5 Ways Your iPad Can Improve Time Management

Want to miss fewer appointments, set more deadlines, and generally be better organized?

Welcome to the age of the tablet. The handwritten journal is no longer the calling card of the time management guru, but the ubiquitous Ipad 2. Apple knows we want to be more organized, so it has optimized the iPad 2 to satisfy laymen’s doubts about get organized.

Here are 5 ways to make your iPad improve time management.

1. Get Evernote

Evernote can be a very useful application, if you use it to the fullest. Unfortunately, I regularly meet people who don’t use Evernote. They classify it as an “application” exclusively for iPad, when in fact it is an application that should be installed on your iPad, iPhone and desktop.

It’s an excellent platform to start and develop ideas, annotate important websites, and distribute them across your entire range of electronic devices. When you use Evernote the right way, you’ll find yourself saving time on a regular basis. For example, when you are at home and ready to work on an already started project, or when you have time on the train to analyze a website on your iPhone, your information is ready to go.

2. Use reminders

Reminders is a new app that’s built into Apple’s new mobile operating system, iOS 5, and it’s a cracker. Apple has widely advertised that it is used efficiently with Siri on the iPhone 4S, but it is just as effective on the iPad 2.

When setting a reminder, be sure to put the expiration date. Then the reminders will give you a reminder as the due date approaches (just like Mom did for you in second grade). This is great for appointments and tasks that you set up a long time ago. To optimize the use of this app, make sure to add all the appointments you have and check all your reminders once a week, this will help you not to totally trust your iPad, but will also exercise your gray matter.

3. Use a time clock

If you need to record time for clients or tasks, not many applications have been developed, but there is a great solution online. This online time clock can be used on all your online devices.

Start the time on your iPad when you take a call at home, and then you can stop it when you get to work on your work PC. You can have multiple clients and start and register them, which greatly simplifies your organization. Your data will be omnipresent, transcendent, where you need it. An essential way to improve time management on iPad.

4. Daily sync via Wi-Fi

If you are running OS Lion on your Apple Mac and iOS 5 on your iPad 2, then you need to sync your iPad every night. No cables needed, it will sync over Wifi. This will sync all your reminders and calendar entries, and sync any changes to email and safari sites. It doesn’t take a long time to set up and it will simplify your time management system. If you haven’t set it up yet, please let me know, honestly, it’s great.

5. Don’t buy Angry Birds

Okay, I back off, I don’t understand fanatic to Angry Birds. IPad 2 is an excellent platform for gaming. It may be one of the main reasons that it has catapulted into popularity in the community, as it has introduced a new way of playing. Unfortunately, this can be incredibly detrimental to time management. There are so many addicting games available in the app store. Personally, my Kryptonite is Angry Birds, I can’t stop. So how can you overcome this entertaining hurdle?

You could be a huge fan and not download games on your iPad, but then you would be missing out on a lot of fun. Instead, install all your productivity and work apps on the first screen of your iPad, and then all your entertainment and games on the next screens. Be mindful not to switch screens during work time, and this will eliminate the temptation.

Apple says it well, when they call the iPad, “magic.” Use it to the fullest and it will help you improve your time management, use it recklessly and you will be known as a late and indolent disciple of the Angry Birds.
