defeat mentality

The defeat mentality is one of the main tricks of the devil in this end time to rob Christians of the heavenly blessings and promises of their God. The greatest way to defeat is to defeat oneself (following one’s inclination or thought through human calculations) even before the situation or the enemy defeats one. Therefore, a Christian who is ready to get the best of God must learn how to overcome the defeat mentality by using faith from him.

The first step in overcoming that mentality is to avoid asking God how he wants what he promises to do to be done. WHY? Because, even though He tells us how, we always tend to question Him more because as far as the reasonableness of what He has said; thus weakening our opportunity to believe and trust his words. However, the one who overcomes the defeat mentality does not consider the reasonableness of what God is saying but simply believes by faith (ie THUS SAITH THE LORD), and never doubts God.

What then is the mentality?

(1) A fixed attitude or mental disposition that predetermines a person’s responses to and interpretations of situations.
(2) An inclination or habit usually formed over a long time that governs how we reason about or judge situations or the words of others.

What is defeat?
(1) To prevent the success of;
(2) Not winning
(3) come to nothing; frustration: the defeat of a lifelong dream.

Thus, a man/woman with a defeat mentality is a person who always discovers nothing but failure in all circumstances or situations in life. It is a mind full of human traditions and calculations to all situations to dispute what God has said about him or the situation he is facing. He/she is always weighing what God has said and the reasonableness of what He has said.
