Home decoration tricks you should know

Sometimes a home, as cozy as it already is, needs a restorative home. But how do you fix a house that appears to be fine the way it is? Using just a few simple tricks, to up the ante, so to speak. Here are some home decorating tricks you should know about.

Start at the door. It is always good to make a good first impression. And the best way to do it is to decorate the door. A well-painted, decorated door has that “welcome” appeal. For example, orange and yellow colors convey warmth and joy. Skip the screen door, because that’s not only an eyesore, it’s out of date. If you want to take it further, add a nice rug and a door accessory.

Let your sofa have a ‘conversation’ with your chairs. It’s a simple trick you can find in hotel lobbies and even rooms to invite people to sit and chat. The furniture is arranged in a ‘U-shape’ or ‘H-shape’. In the ‘H shape’, two armchairs that sit next to each other face the sofa. In the middle is a coffee table. While the ‘U-shape’ places the coffee table in the center, the two armchairs on its left and right side, and the sofa in the middle. All the chairs and the sofa are in front of the coffee table.

Another furniture tip is not to push the furniture against the wall. Doing so sets the room boundary. The ‘floating’ furniture gives the illusion that the room is much larger.

Let in natural light. Want to save on lighting costs but still make your home fabulous? Opt for natural light. Sunlight not only provides good lighting, it also disinfects your home. It is also exhilarating for some to receive much-needed rays. This also means who no longer needs thick and expensive curtains.

Mirror Mirror on the wall. Mirrors make the room appear larger. They also bounce light around the room. So be sure to put a mirror in each of your rooms. Place the mirror on the walls that are perpendicular to the windows so that they can bounce the light effectively.

Indoors? Use your illusion. If your home has a low ceiling, there are a few tricks you can use to make it appear taller and less claustrophobic. One is to hang the curtains higher than the windows. The ideal height is around three inches, or just the right height before it’s too short. Two, use mirrors. It’s not just magicians who use mirrors to do tricks. Mirrors make a room appear larger, a slanted one makes the ceiling appear higher. Another trick is to use vertical stripes, the lines make your walls appear longer.

Climb a rug using furniture. Have you ever seen a living room rug that looks out of proportion? It is too big or too small. To avoid this, make sure that all the feet of your living room furniture fit inside the carpet. We talked about the sofa, two armchairs, and the coffee table. If the rug is too large, there will be a lot of space left over. You want the rug to end only a few inches from the feet of the furniture. This creates a ratio that is not only visually excellent, but the ends of the rug are well tucked in so they are not dangerous to people moving.
