Early vs Late Potty Training

Many doctors or psychologists will tell you not to potty train your child until they are 3 or 4 years old. Some even say don’t potty train the child at all; that they will teach themselves to go to the bathroom when they are ready, which they say is between 4 and 5 years old. I personally don’t know how and where they got their stats because I found the exact opposite.

Through my many years of potty training, I have found that parents who begin to introduce the idea of potty training to their children at a very early age have faster and easier success than parents who they wait until the child is much older.

Children who are younger are more impressionable, they do not notice their ways. The closer a child approaches the age of three, the more established he is in his ways. They are comfortable in their diaper and the way they do things.

The older the child, the more difficult and longer it takes parents to potty train their child. Children at this age know how to control the situation and use their control. They’re also very comfortable with the way things are, so it’s hard to get them to change.

I found that most children by the age of 22 months are ready to be potty trained and can be potty trained in as little as three days. Why wait for a child to turn 4? Why make it harder for yourself later? Why change diapers for another two years?

Is your child already 3 or 4 years old? Well, the good news is that it’s not too late. You too can be potty trained in as little as three days. You may have a bit more of a fight on your hands, but it can be done!

Now, I am not a doctor or a psychologist but I am a mother of 6 children and I have had 8 foster children. I have also successfully helped potty train over 2,100 children around the world. Personally, I feel like I am an expert in potty training. So in my “expert” opinion, I think if you are potty trained early you will have quicker and easier success.

At EasyPottyTraining.com you can find a potty training guide that provides a fail-safe test to assess your little one’s readiness. If your little one can pass this easy test, then he is ready to be potty trained.
