How to Make Thattai Chat – A Popular South Indian Snack

Hello everyone,

Today I come to show you one of my favorite snacks. Have you ever heard of Thattai?? I guess people in most of the world would never have heard of him. Anyway, don’t worry, for those of you who are hearing it for the first time, let me tell you what it is, Thattai (Tamil) is a popular South Indian snack and is often prepared during festive occasions such as Janmashtami and Diwali. It is available in sweet shops in India and makes a good combination with tea. Now I am going to teach how to make this cookie a little more flavorful as the icing on the cake with a plate of its own. It is very easy to prepare and very rich to eat at night.

First let’s look at the necessary ingredients:

Thattai – 100 grams

Carrots – 50 grams

Onion – 100 grams

Tomato – 100 grams

Beetroot – 100 grams

Mint (Pudina) – 50 grams

Coriander leaves – 50 grams

Red chillies – 100 grams

Cheese – 2 slices

How to prepare:

I will go step by step

1) First, clean all the vegetables properly

2) Combine the coriander leaves and the mint and grind them in a Mixer grinder until you get a paste. Make sure to add a pinch of salt.

3) Next, cut the tomatoes into small pieces and grind them in a mixer grinder together with the red chillies until you get a paste.

4) I prefer both pastas to be made at home rather than store bought because they won’t be fresh and won’t add much flavor to the dish.

5) Then cut the onion into small pieces and mix the onion with the grated carrot and beetroot in a small bowl

6) Now take two pieces of Thattai, leave one as a base (below) and apply the coriander mint paste (if you need the dish to be tart, apply more coriander mint paste).

7) Then keep the onion, carrot and beet mixture on top of this base

8) Then apply the Red Spicy Tomato Paste (if you need the dish to be very spicy, apply more Red Spicy Tomato Paste) to the other Thattai and place on top of the vegetable mixture.

9) That’s it. The Yummy Cracker sandwich is ready. Present the recipe with grated cheese toppings.

Try this. I bet you will never stop eating!!

Thank you
